Exercise: What is my problem?

For some reason I will go an exercise for weeks, and as soon as I start to feel good, something discourages me or something happens and I just stop altogether. I had to go to the docotor's one time, and I was confident that I had lost weight - but instead the scale said I gained TEN POUNDS! I just got angry and stopped exercising altogether, because it seemed like a waste of time. Any way to kind of "cure" this from happening? Because everytime i start an exercise routine, something blows it and I just give up.
