Does an mba specialization really helps in getting a satisfactory job for a person having work experience?

I need advice on choosing right specialization in mba distance learning course.does obtaining a degree in a particular specialized subject help in getting relevant job of interest if i have a work experience of abt 6yrs in a profile that didnt get me stability in sales job.IF i choose banking/operation mgmt/hr would i have to look for entry level jobs in the new field as i want to relocate myself in a job that has operational work rather than a sales profile.please advice.also does HR specialization in mba have any scope for growth as my peers say its not so good? Its more of PR work where u just recruit people in organisation and or just take up hr payroll compensation work.Is it really worth at a stage where i m in 30's now and jobless due to lack of career direction.getting into a bank also has age limit criteria so specialization in banking wuld help or not?please advice.
