My father has fallen extremely ill, please answer?

He was fine a couple of days ago until he started to complain about the pain in his body. He has diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol and hes in his early 50's. Now lately he has been in severe pain and he cannot sit still or handle it. His face seems to look a lot redder then usual and he is breathing really heavy... My family has been demanding to take him to the hospital but hes not listening to any of us and does not want to go. We are going to forcefully take him today. But what I'm asking is, are these symptoms because of this diabetes? Could this be a deadly situation? please answer we are very worried :(
